PowerPad 160 provides up to 16 hours of run timeToronto, Ontario – November 14, 2000 – Electrofuel Inc. announced today that it received a US$8 millionorder for its PowerPad 160 rechargeable portable computer batteries from a key Value-Added Reseller(VAR). The Value-Added Reseller has committed to purchase the PowerPad 160’s over the next 12months.
“This order represents a major commitment to the PowerPad product line from a key distributor. It is asignificant early indicator of the sizeable demand for our portable power technology,” said Sankar DasGupta, President and CEO of Electrofuel.
Using Electrofuel’s patented Lithium Ion SuperPolymer battery technology, the PowerPad 160 delivers upto 8 times more power for notebook computers than conventional battery packs. The PowerPad 160provides notebooks with up to 16 hours of power while weighing only 2.5 lbs. It is about the same size asletter-sized paper, at 8.75 x 11.5 inches and only 3/8” thick, so it can fit inside a briefcase or notebookcarrying case. It will recharge in about 4 to 5 hours and is priced at US$499.
