Sankar is an award-winning scientist, awarded over 75 US patents on electrochemistry, battery and materials science. He has been a member of many committees including the White House Committee on Energy & Environment, chaired by then Vice- President Al Gore and was an Advisor to the Indian PM on Batteries and Energy Transformation. A founder charter member of TIE-Toronto and is a frequently invited speaker at conferences and universities worldwide. Sankar received his Doctorate from Imperial College, London and is a graduate of Presidency College, Calcutta.
